Your logo is the graphical representation of your business in all marketing materials. It should be easily understood, visually appealing, and recognizable.

Factors to consider when planning your logo:

• Simplicity - Rule #1
  • Keep it simple.  The more complex your logo is the more difficult it may be to use in many instances.
• Size matters!
  • Is your logo still clearly visible at smaller sizes?
• Color:
  • Limiting the number of colors is generally a good idea. It can also save you money on printing expenses.
  • What will your logo look like in black & white?
  • Your logo may have gradient colors or shading. Make sure it also looks good in "flat" colors and without shading.
• Flexibility:
  • Your logo should be versatile for use on different marketing materials.
  • Ever try to fit a square peg into a round hole?  On sites like Facebook and Google+, a rectangular logo may need to "squeeze" into either a square, or worse - a circle.
  • Try to avoid having different versions of your logo unless absolutely necessary.  But if you must, make sure they are consistent.
• Pro vs. Amateur
  • Make sure your logo gives a professional impression of your business.  A great first impression is priceless!
  • No clipart!  Nothing screams unprofessional louder than clipart.
